Day One ­­— Nov 20 2020
Our tour begins the moment we arrive at your home to transfer you to Sydney International Airport where we board our overnight flight to Amman, Jordan.

Day Two ­—­ Nov 21 2020
After arriving in Amman this morning, we transfer to our hotel to check in before exploring this amazing city, created in the early 20th century and one of the youngest cities in the Middle East. There’s plenty to explore as Amman is one of the easiest cities in which to enjoy the Middle East experience. During the evening we will enjoy a welcome dinner before retiring.

Day Three — Nov 22 2020
Today we journey to Ajloun where we visit Ajloun Castle, built in 1184 and one of the finest examples of Islamic architecture. We explore Jerash, the city of a thousand columns and witness the hidden beauty of this Greco-Roman site, wander the actual ancient Roman streets that run through the city and take in the marvel of this eastern part of the ancient Roman Empire. We’ll enjoy a delicious lunch of Lebanese delicacies served with exceptional Arab hospitality at Lebanese House Um Khalil Restaurant in Jerash.

Day Four — Nov 23 2020
We start our day with a visit to Mount Nebo, one of the most revered holy sites in Jordan and the place where Moses was buried. Later, we arrive into Feynan Eco Lodge where we will enjoy our next four nights stay. This enchanting world of Bedouin hospitality is one of the world’s best ecolodges, and it’s a privilege for us to enjoy the local village life and culture. Set deep in the heart of the mountainous Dana Biosphere Reserve this idyllic candle-lit lodge is our base from which to take an afternoon stroll to watch the sunset against the dramatic backdrop of the rugged multicoloured mountains.

Day Five — Nov 24 2020
Today we experience a unique insight into the lives of one of the last remaining Bedouin communities in Jordan. By joining a local Bedouin family in their goat-hair tented home, we will have the rare opportunity to learn about the rich culture, traditions and lifestyles that are preserved her with these Bedouin tribes. Choose to make Kohl (Bedouin eye make-up), or learn to roast coffee beans and taste test Arabic coffee. Maybe try baking Bedouin bread or even learn to make
a tent from goat hair!.

Day Six — Nov 25 2020
Feynan was an important supply centre for the Roman Empire, and this morning we’ll learn how vast deposits of copper were discovered, mined and processed at Feynan by ancient civilizations thousands of years ago. Later, we visit Little Petra, also known as Siq al-Barid, an archaeological site located north of Petra and the town of Wadi Musa in the Ma’an Governorate of Jordan. Like Petra, it is a Nabataean site, with buildings carved into the walls of sandstone canyons. Tonight, we enjoy a delicious dinner at Petra’s Kitchen.

Day Seven — Nov 26 2020
Nothing can prepare you for the tombs and temples of Petra, the Red Rose City. It’s Jordan’s most valuable treasure and one of the world’s most treasured Unesco Heritage Sites. We start the morning with a walk through the Siq, an experience in itself, and only surpassed by your first glimpse of Al-Khazneh, or the Treasury. In the evening we’ll enjoy the magical Petra Night Show, where over 1500 candles light the night sky and illuminate this breathtaking rock city.

Day Eight — Nov 27 2020
Today our adventure continues with a jeep ride to Wadi Rum, exploring the sites in a morning drive through the desert. In the afternoon we check into our Luxury Camp where we stay in Martian Tents, a camping experience like no other, combining modern style living and comfort while still living the authentic desert experience. From the comfort of your bed, you can gaze at the magnificent moon and stars.

Day Nine — Nov 28 2020
Today we experience the incredible landscape of Al-Qaa from a whole new perspective, starting the day with an early morning hot-air-balloon ride over the region. During the day, we transfer to the lowest dry land point on earth, The Dead Sea. Dropping down to more than 400 metres below sea level, this is one of the region’s most spectacular natural and spiritual backdrops.

Day Ten — Nov 29 2020
Revel in a morning spent beside or floating in, The Dead Sea, a swimming experience like no other. The famous hypersaline (salty) water makes floating easy, so it’s the perfect way to relax and soak up some sun. The sea’s mineral-rich black mud is used for treatments so enjoy the therapeutic benefits of this naturally occurring day spa. We return to Amman, where we visit to visit Habib Sweets and taste their famous Kunafa. If you have a sweet tooth, Habiba’s kunafa is a must! Spend the afternoon exploring Rainbow Street, a colourful strip brimming with shops and cafes.

Day Eleven — Nov 30 2020
This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight to amazing Cairo. A chaotic, but intriguing and magnificent city.

Day Twelve — Dec 1 2020
Today we will ascend to Citadel for views of the city, and visit Alabaster Mosque. The mosque is home to a substantial solid marble pulpit which is the largest in the country, and its beautiful cut crystal, gilt-covered surfaces reflect a beautiful light show. Visit the Egyptian Museum, immerse yourself in the rich history of this amazing region by viewing ancient artifacts of Tutankhamun, and other great pharoahs. This afternoon we will explore the Khan El Khalili Markets, an experience not to be missed! Enjoy a spot of shopping and wander around this ancient bazaar taking in the sights, sounds and smells of this amazing region.

Day Thirteen ­­— Dec 2 2020
Today our Egyptologist guide will take us through to Giza where we will visit the awe-inspiring pyramids and view the Sphinx, one the world’s largest sculptures. We’ll see how papyrus was made in the ancient times at a Papyrus Institute and later enjoy the views of the pyramids of Memphis and Sakkara.

Day Fourteen — Dec 3 2020
This morning we transfer to Alexandria. Founded by Alexander the Great this city has rebuilt after a history of misfortune from losing the Lighthouse of Alexandria to earthquakes and the destruction of the Great Library by fire. Our afternoon is a visit to the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, one of the largest burial sites of the Roman Empire, then on to the picturesque Qaitbay Citadel and the reincarnated Alexandria Library.

Day Fifteen — Dec 4 2020
Today is steeped in the history of our own country when we visit a WWII battlefield and then the Chatby Military & War Memorial Cemetery (originally the Garrison cemetery) which was used for burials and to commemorate the lives of Commonwealth service personnel until April 1916.

Day Sixteen — Dec 5 2020
This morning we board our fascinating and panoramic four-night cruise on the world famous river Nile. This luxurious cruise is one you will never forget as we view the ancient monuments and temples of Luxor, visit the Valley of the Kings, Karnak temple and discover a civilization over 5,000 years old. This evening we visit the East Bank, and the Temple of Luxor and Temple Karnak, built over 2,000 years ago and in almost continuous use as a place of worship right up to the present day.

Day Seventeen — Dec 6 2020
This morning our group visits the West Bank Colossi of Memnon, where the iconic statues depict the seated King on a throne ornamented with imagery of his mother, his wife, the ancient God of the Nile, Hapi, and other symbolic engravings. We visit the Temple of Hatshepsut and world-famous Valley of the Kings where the ancient Egyptians built impressive public monuments to their pharaohs. We’ll enjoy dinner on our cruise.

Day Eighteen — Dec 7 2020
Today our cruise continues to Edfu to view one of the best preserved ancient monuments in Egypt, The Temple of Edfu. Known for its majestic and enormous entrance, this temple and The Temple of Kom Ombo are ours to explore for a day where we step back in time amongst ancient ruins and temples to experience more amazing structures of ancient Egypt.

Day Nineteen — Dec 8 2020
This morning we cruise to the Island of Philae, a rocky island in the middle of the River Nile where we visit granite quarries and the Philae Temple, a sacred site considered by many to be the last of the ancient temples constructed in the ‘classic’ Egyptian style. From here we will visit the Elephantine Island which is in the centre of the Nile at Aswan. This was the original ‘border town’ between Egypt and the Nubian lands to the south and in ancient times was an important strategic position both for the defense of the border and as a trading route. Here we will explore the Botanical Gardens and enjoy a High Tea at Old Cataract Hotel.

Day Twenty — Dec 9 2020
Today we disembark the cruise and spend the day sightseeing in Aswan, a relaxing and welcoming town which was an important historical city known for its military advantages and port for trade. Take in the sights, the unforgettable panoramas and revel in your last day in this amazing country.

Day Twenty-One — Dec 10 2020
This morning we start our journey home as we fly to Cairo, before catching our overnight flight to Sydney.
