Darwin is the best place to start experiencing the Top End of Australia, with iconic natural sights such as Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks and Katherine Gorge right on its doorstep. Day One // 6th June 2018
This morning you will be transferred to Sydney Airport for your flight to Darwin. Once landed, you will be transferred to your hotel, before enjoying a lovely meal on the waterfront giving you spectacular views of the lagoon and Darwin Harbour.

Day Two // 7th June 2018
Today we will start our adventure with a full day spent at Tiwi Islands. The Tiwi Islands are famous for their traditional lifestyle, art and love of AFL. Sit down with the ‘morning tea ladies’, a group of Tiwi women elders who serve damper and billy tea, and get a feel for what everyday life is like. The Island is famous for its’ art, which hangs in galleries around the world. Everywhere you look you will see art decorating schools, on carved burial poles, adorning the altar of the white wooden church and in the islands’ renowned art centres. Today we will meet the artists, watch them paint, weave, sculpt, carve and learn the story behind their distinctive pieces. Work with an Aboriginal artist to create your own work of art – Tiwi style, either painting or screen printing! Once we return to Darwin, it’s time to visit the iconic Mindil Beach Markets. From our VIP area soak up tropical night air and watch the magic sunset over the beach; before browsing the stalls and eating from one of the great food stands.

Day Three // 8th June 2018
It’s time to farewell Darwin and start exploring further into the Top End. Start the day by discovering Kakadu National Park, a magical land. Dramatic escarpments, pristine landscapes, cascading waterfalls, Aboriginal rock art and abundant wildlife… Encompassing 20,000 square kilometres of the World Heritage Listed land, Kakadu National Park is natural wonderland with surprises around every corner.

Today there will be an OPTIONAL activity to take a scenic flight over Kakadu. This is an additional cost which must be specified at time of booking.

Day Four // 9th June 2018
Today we take part in an exceptional Aboriginal cultural and heritage day tour into Arnhem Land and Northern Kakadu. Visit places inaccessible to most, including ancient rock art sites. Gain knowledge of traditional land ownership, bush skills, hunting, food gathering and bush tucker preparation. Travelling in 4WDs, you will also experience the region’s world-famous landscapes consisting of sandstone outcrops, escarpment, forests, floodplains and billabongs.

Day Five // 10th June 2018
This morning we make our way to Katherine. Where the outback meets the tropics and adventure meets relaxation, the Katherine region is full of gorges and waterfalls, thermal springs and ancient cultures. On the way, enjoy a 2hour Yellow Water Cruise through the region’s wetlands. This area offers rich wildlife, dramatic scenery and an ever-changing landscape. We will also visit Edith Falls (western side of Katherine Gorge) before arriving at our spectacular accommodation –
Cicada Lodge.

Day Six // 11th June 2018
This morning we will start with a Dawn cruise on the Katherine Gorge. The colours of the early morning awaken as you emerge into the first gorge. See the mist rising above the smooth water’s surface, hear the wildlife stirring from the night and breathe the crisp clean air. This cruise will allow you to discover the unspoiled beauty of the morning – a truly memorable start to the day and a nature lovers dream.

Later we will be making our way back to Darwin via Litchfield National Park. See the parks spectacular waterfalls and cascades, as well as the amazing magnetic and cathedral termite mounds.

Day Seven // 12th June 2018
Today you will tour the historic sites of Darwin such as East Point Military Precinct, The Qantas Hanger, Fanny Bay Goal and Darwin Military Museum. There is also time to explore the Museum and Art Gallery, and to have a stroll in the Botanical Gardens. The evening we will board a deluxe three-level catamaran, for our sunset dinner cruise. Travel past Stokes Hill Wharf, the Esplanade, Larrakeyah Naval barracks, Cullen Bay, and Fannie Bay. Hear live commentary on Darwin’s history and landmarks, toast an incredible journey with a glass of champagne and say farewell the Top End with a fantastic seafood buffet dinner.

Day Eight // 13th June 2018
This morning you will be transferred to Darwin airport for your flight home.
Once landed in Sydney, you will be transferred to your home address.
