Day One // 16th November 2017
Today you will be transferred to Sydney airport for your overnight flight to Dubai.

Day Two // 17th November 2017
After arriving to Dubai you will be transferred to your accommodation. The morning will be free to recover from the flight, but in the afternoon we will journey into the desert for a magical experience. Watch the sun drop under the horizon as you watch a falcon soar around you. Your Bedouin camp, lit with the gentle flames of traditional lamps is nestled inside a Royal desert retreat. Here you will experience cultural activities such as henna tattoos, music, dance and bread and Arabic coffee making before enjoying a scrumptious dinner under the stars.

Day Three // 18th November 2017
After our stopover in Dubai, we will be transferred back to the airport for our next destination – Prague!
After arriving in Prague airport you will be transferred to your hotel for check in, before enjoying dinner at a local restaurant.

Day Four // 19th November 2017
Today we will spend the day exploring the city of Prague and it’s major historical areas. This will include the New Town and the vibrant area of Wenceslas Square, as well as the Old Town and the beautiful ‘Lesser Town’. Walk through the cobblestone side streets, taking in the fine views of the river and enjoying the traditional Czech atmosphere. A highlight for today is sure to be explore the Prague castle complex – the largest medieval castle complex in Europe! Admire the grandeur of St Vitus Cathedral and the ancient architecture of the Royal Palace, all while taking in the stunning views over the whole of Prague. Witness the synagogues, the cemetery and the streets of former Jewish Ghetto, along with a walk over the Charles Bridge where you can pick up some great souvenirs!

Day Five // 20th November 2017
Cesky Krumlov is located in Southern Bohemia and dominated by the second largest castle in Europe. This will be our destination for today’s activities and is a wonderful, must do experience. Marvel at the beautiful Renaissance and Baroque facades surrounding the cobbled streets that have resulted in this town being a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day Six // 21st November 2017
Farewell Prague this morning as we are travel to Kudowa Zdorj, which is below the Stolowe Mountains in the southwest part of Poland. Our tour today will include a visit to the fascinating Skull Chapel. Decorated with bones on its ceiling and skulls on its walls, you will discover this impressive art work made in the 18th century by father Tomaszek.

Day Seven // 22nd November 2017
Today we will travel to Ladek Zroj for a well earnt rest after the first week of our adventures. Royalty and celebrities alike have flocked to Ladek Zdroj for centuries to enjoy the physical and psychological benefits offered by this famous spa. Ladek Zdroj is not only Poland’s oldest spa but also one of the oldest spas in Europe

Once you set foot in the town, simply breathing in the fresh mountain air will lift your spirits instantly. The healing springs in this part of southwestern Poland have restorative properties while the lush greenery of the Golden Mountains provides not only fresh air but also a serene backdrop ideal for clearing your mind. Salt caves, therapeutic mud, and thermal spring water that are all native to this area. Zdroj Wojciech Natural Therapy Institute dates back to the 19th century and is one of the most acclaimed institutes of its type. Here we can relax in a massage bath, take in some fresh air in the oxygen café, or take a dip in the domed thermal swimming pool reminiscent of a Turkish bath. Its green dome is a landmark synonymous with the town of Ladek Zdroj itself.

Can’t relax and need to be more adventurous? The area is full of hiking paths where you can enjoy a long walk and marvel at the natural scenery, or you can also explore the ruins of the Karpien Castle.

Day Eight // 23rd November 2017
Our destination tonight is Wroclaw, but on the way we stop at the Duszniki  Zdorj Paper Museum. At this 17th century paper mill you will not only get to learn how the famous paper is made but you can also take some home! After our visit we will continue through to Klodzko – a town in south-western Poland, sometimes referred to as “Little Prague”. After a sightseeing tour, we continue through to our final destination for the day, Wroclaw.

Day Nine // 24th November 2017
This morning enjoy a guided tour of Wroclaw which will include a visit to the Market Square with the Gothic Town Hall;  a chance to see the Panorama Raclawicka painting and also the University buildings, with its magnificent interiors. A highlight is sure to be a musical performance in Wroclaw’s Philharmonic Hall before we travel to Auschwitz-Birkenau.
The camp was built by Nazis during the Nazi occupation of Poland and today, this place is a world Heritage site of The UNESCO. We will then continue through to Krakow for dinner at a local restaurant.

Day Ten // 25th November 2017
Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture are all features of the Old Town in Krakow, the biggest Market Square in Europe. Our sightseeing tour today will have us exploring Wawel Hill, with the castle’s beautiful yard and the Cathedral. We will also see Town Hall, Collegium Maius and Saint Marys church, with the famous Wit Stwosz’s altar.

Day Eleven // 26th November 2017
After breakfast we will be transferred to Wieliczka. Here we visit the Wieliczka Salt Mine- one of the oldest salt mines in the world. In 1978, the mine was listed as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. After our visit we travel to Poprad – a city in northern Slovakia at the foot of the High Tatra Mountains, famous for its picturesque historic centre. We then continue our travels through to Kosice; a city with a well-preserved historical centre, which is the largest among Slovak towns. There are many heritage protected buildings in Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Art Nouveau styles with Slovakia’s largest church: the St Elizabeth Cathedral.

Day Twelve // 27th November 2017
Today we leave Slovakia and cross the border to Hungary, to our next destination – Budapest!

Budapest, Hungary’s capital, is bisected by the River Danube, and the 19th-century Chain Bridge connects its hilly Buda district with flat Pest. A short walking tour of the city will give you a great orientation before we take a coffee break at the famous “Gerbeaud” Café House. Located right around the corner of the main shopping street “Vaci Utca”, you will have free time this afternoon to explore the local area. This evening, we celebrate our first night in Budapest with a classical concert or opera.

Day Thirteen // 28th November 2017
Puszta (Great Plain) is unique in Europe with its whitewashed farmhouse walls, fields of bright red paprika, sweep wells, thatched czardas, galloping horses and stud farms. Our day tour to this region allows us to get some idea about the local fauna and flora, see the traditional Hungarian domestic animals, take part in a horse-carriage trip, participate on a spectacular horse-herd performance and even ride a horse if you want to! We return to Budapest for an evening at leisure.

Day Fourteen // 29th November 2017
Today we will take a tour to the Parliament the Heroes Square and the Cathedral of St Stephan.

In the early afternoon we will transfer to board our Evergreen River Cruise, which will be ‘home’ for the next two weeks. This evening join your fellow travellers for a welcome cocktail reception followed by a night-time cruise along Danube. Whilst you are cruising with Evergreen for the next 14 days, all meals are included along with complimentary wine, beer and soft drinks with lunch and dinner.

Day Fifteen // 30th November 2017
Enjoy a guided tour of the city sites of Budapest which will include the Royal Palace of Buda, the hilltop castle complex with Fisherman’s Bastion, the Matthias Church, and the Chain Bridge linking Buda and Pest. We will then set sail, departing for Bratislava.

Day Sixteen // 1st December 2017
This morning we arrive at the city of Bratislava, capital of the republic of Slovakia. Enjoy a sightseeing tour including the Enchanting Old City with it’s Town Hall, Mirbach Palace and the gothic cathedral of St Martins. Today’s highlight you will be welcomed to a Slovak home in a village for afternoon tea with a local family.

Bratislava

Day Seventeen // 2nd December 2017
Today we explore Austria’s capital – Vienna – beginning with a drive along the Ringstrasse, where we will see the world famous Opera House, Burg theatre, Spanish Riding School, Town Hall, St. Stephens Cathedral and the Horfburg Imperial Palace. Afterwards we will have free time to sample the wonderful Christmas market of Vienna.

Day Eighteen // 3rd December 2017
This morning we will arrive in Durnstein, one of the most enchanting villages of the Wachau wine region. Later, drive through the picturesque landscape of this district to the 900 year old Benedictine Abbey of Melk, which features Austria’s finest Italian baroque architecture.

Day Nineteen // 4th December 2017
Cruise along the Danube this morning, before reaching Passau in the afternoon. Stroll through the old town’s narrow alleys and see the hilltop Oberhaus Fortress.

Day Twenty // 5th December 2017
After breakfast we arrive in magnificent Regensburg. On our guided walking tour you’ll have the chance to see one of the oldest bridges crossing the Danube and see the city’s architectural highlights including the Old Town Hall. We will welcome a traditional Bavarian band on board for a dance with the locals this evening.

Day Twenty-One // 6th December 2017
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of the historic city of Nuremberg. See the storybook 900 year old rampats, the Imperial Castle and the Justice Palace or head to the Nazi party rally grounds. Nuremberg is also known for its Christmas market squares which you can visit in your spare time today.

Day Twenty-Two // 7th December 2017
Boasting on one of Europe’s largest intact medieval town centres, Bamberg is bursting with original character and charm. Feel the magic of the past as you explore this UNESCO World Heritage city with your guide today and enjoy the local Christmas Markets.

Day Twenty-Three // 8th December 2017
Known as the “Pearl of the Romantic Road” Wurzburg is surrounded by sloping hills covered with vineyards. Join your Evergreen guide for a walking tour followed by a visit to the Bishops Residenz, one of Germany’s largest and most ornate baroque palaces
and heritage.

Day Twenty-Four // 9th December 2017
Travel to the picturesque village of Miltenberg on the Main River. The village creates an imitable feeling of Bavarian life in the middle ages, with the Old Town lined with well-preserved  half-timbered buildings. You will be taken on a guided tour of Miltenberg today by your Evergreen guides.

Day Twenty-Five // 10th December 2017
After breakfast arrive at Rudesheim, one of Germany’s most popular towns. Here you
will have time to explore the cobblestone streets before we return to the ship to cruise the through the spectacular Rhine Gorge.
In the early evening we arrive into the beautiful 2,000 year old town Koblenz.

Day Twenty-Six // 11th December 2017
The ship sails from Koblenz in the early morning, cruising along the Rhine we arrive
in Cologne. Cologne’s Christmas markets are in all the city squares. This evening the captain will be delighted to welcome you to the Captains Gala Dinner for one of your last night’s on board this fantastic river cruise.

Day Twenty-Seven // 12th December 2017
The ship sails along the Amsterdam Rijinkanaal and we arrive into Amsterdam. This afternoon join a glass top canal boat cruise and explore Amsterdam’s maze of canals before joining your fellow travellers on Evergreen for a farewell dinner.

Day Twenty-Eight // 13th December 2017
You will disembark the cruise and be transferred to the hotel for the last city stay
on our adventures.

Subject to the weather, we will experience Amsterdam a little differently today – on board of an electric Tuk Tuk! A truly unique experience not to be missed! You will be driven in all those small streets and along the canal where buses and trams cannot accede, passing by most of the beautiful and famous historical monuments, like the 17th century canals (UNESCO World In heritage List),
Anne Frank House, The Red Light District,
The Royal Palace, The Western Church,
The Jordan District and other places more hidden by tourists but not to be missed
during your visit.

Day Twenty-Nine // 14th December 2017
Today our excursion takes us to the countryside north of Amsterdam, where we visit windmill village ‘de Zaanse Schans’ – famous for its characteristic green wooden houses. On the turn of the 18th century this district was an industrial area with approximately 700 windmills in use. In this day and age there are only five left. Through typical Dutch scenery we continue to Volendam, for a city walk and to enjoy the traditional fisherman’s village of Marken.

This morning it is time to transfer to the airport for the journey home to Australia.

Day Thirty-One // 16th December 2017
On arrival in Sydney it’s time to farewell your JTW travelling companions as you are transferred to your home address.
